Dr. Kevin Grimes
Co-Director of SPARK at Stanford; Professor of Chemical and Systems Biology

Dr. Kevin Grimes, MD, MBA, will lead the inaugural session on Challenges in Repurposing Drugs. Dr. Grimes began his career as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Stanford, where he focused on teaching and practicing internal medicine. He later received a Hartford Foundation Fellowship to study health economics and earned his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. As a White House Fellow, he served as Special Assistant to the Secretary of Defense. With over 15 years of experience in the medical device, consulting, and biotechnology industries, Dr. Grimes returned to Stanford to co-direct SPARK. He also teaches graduate-level courses on drug discovery and development and has been recognized with the David Rytand Award for Excellence in Clinical Teaching and the Faculty Award for Excellence in Graduate Teaching.
